CUILLIN FM - BIG BIRTHDAY BASH - SATURDAY 2nd JULY 2005

On Saturday 2nd July 2005, Cuillin FM celebrated its first Birthday.

The station celebrated by broadcasting live shows from 9am until midnight! Lots of people entered the competition, phoned in with requests and birthday wishes and the day was a huge success.

A big Thank You goes to all the presenters who gave up their time to come along and make the day such a success but a special Thank You must definitely go to the following people for dedication over and above the call of duty:

JIM and IRIS CAMPBELL
SUSAN CAMPBELL
BARBARA MACKENZIE
JOHN and KATE MASSON

A special Thank You goes to the Granary for supplying all the food (delicious it was too!) and to Christina MacRae for making the wonderful birthday cake (which soon disappeared down hungry throats!).

What an eventful year we have had!

Cuillin FM eventually started its regular broadcasting in a rather damp portacabin while waiting on the new studio to be built. We then moved into our luxury home last November and, apart from a couple of teething problems, we haven't looked back.

Of course, this hasn't happened without the help of many people and therefore, on our first birthday we would like to say a HUGE thank you to every single person who has helped in any way, large or small, with making Cuillin FM a success. The list would be too long to mention every person by name but, one thing is certain, without those people we would definitely not be here today having our first Birthday Bash.

Looking forward to our second year, we are in the middle of discussions to have another 2 transmitters erected, which will give us an almost 90% coverage on the island and parts of the mainland. We are also looking at streaming our broadcasts live on the internet in order that we can then reach the other 10% of the island and also ex-pats in all corners of the world.

So, to all those people who have helped us in the past and indeed continue to help; to all our funders, sponsors, advertisers, presenters, etc – Thank You for your support.

Last, but definitely not least, our biggest Thanks go to you the listeners – this is your radio station and without you we wouldn't be here so, do continue to tune in to CuillinFM on 106.2 where we will endeavour to bring you the best in broadcasting.
