CUILLIN FM - ACCORDION & FIDDLE FESTIVAL Outside Broadcast - SATURDAY 27th MAY 2006 |
On Saturday 27th May, 2006 Cuillin FM had its first official outside broadcast from the Accordion and Fiddle Festival at the Royal Hotel Portree - and what a day it was: Cuillin FM's first live broadcast on Sat 27 th May, featured the Isle of Skye Accordion & Fiddle Festival from the Well Plaid. The broadcast featured the launch of the Ross MacPherson SDB's new CD. Ross (Loch Creran) accordion, Calum MacPhail (Dalmally) fiddle and D J Campbell (Bernisdale) drums. Prior to the launch, the audience were entertained by Alec and Archie MacAllister (Campbeltown), joined by Colin Forgreive (Oban); followed by Ian Cameron and Jimmy Hardy, The Bon Accords and James Laurie (Lockerbie). The Ross MacPherson band then played a wide selection of sets from their new CD, “By the Shores of Loch Creran”. Following the launch, the Charlie Johnstone band, followed by Ian and Murdo Cameron (Glenelg) and finally Alan Palmer, Lorraine Gillies, Donald MacRae and Ross MacPherson, provided further entertainment.(write-up supplied by Tom Palmer - many thanks) |
