Cuillin FM is about to start a programme of further development following funding approval from the Highland Leader Programmme, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Highland Opportunity Community Loan Fund and the Highland Culture Programme. We are extremely grateful to all the agencies for their support.
Within the next couple of weeks we will have our own vehicle which will make outside broadcasting much easier. This will be equiped to go out on the road and will save the lengthy setting up of the O/B unit every time we want to cover an event.
We want to try to cover a couple of areas in Skye where reception is poor - Staffin and Sleat - and are investigating options in both communities and hoping to errect either transmitters or masts to allow coverage.
Studio 2 will be set up as a working second studio and will be refurbished along with soundproofing. A window will be installed in the office to create a better working environment.
Computer equipment is to be purchased to bring us up to allow for for effective operation of the studio and make further use of the sustaining service system.
We plan to produce a CD using local artists which will be on sale next year.
Finally the Directors are keen for the Station to undertake customer feedback as without knowing what our audience want and like, it is difficult to move forward in the best way. We have a detailed questionaire which will be distributed throughout Skye and Lochalsh in the New Year. It will also be available on our website.
It is an exciting time for Cuillin FM and we will keep you informed of progress over the next year or so. If anyone would like further information please contact Catriona Maclean at email@example.com
